The banquet for the 2010 Stars Baseball and Softball teams went great again. All players were recognized for their attributes and success throughout the year. Several individual awards were given away including 5 most improved players whom were 12u softball players Casey Green and Mallorie Martin, 10u baseball player Shane Sullivan, and 12u Star baseball players Bobby Floyd and Fox Wagner. 12u Softball Coach Miranda Klees was the Coach of the Year in the organization for leading her team to a great year. The Rookie of the Year was 17u Shortstop Gary Mattocks. Stars also gave out appreciation awards to 4 players whose dedication and commitment exemplified what the program is all about. Those 4 players were 12u softball players Jessica Scagliotti, Haleigh Ferro, Casey Green, and Taylor Fitzmaurice. The unsung hero awards were given to Coach Scott Wagner and Coach Lori Wagner for their relentless commitment and desire to help in all facets of the Stars program. The 2010 Softball Player of the Year was infielder Haleigh Ferro who had a great 2010 season. The 2010 Baseball Middle School Cy Young Award winner was Dillon Leduc of the 14u Stars who threw 6 complete games and displayed great pitching ability in 15u showcase games. The 2010 Baseball Middle School Player of the Year was infielder Ryan Flynn of the 15u Stars whom hit 5 home runs in 2010 and won the award for the second straight year. The Stars 2010 High School Cy Young Winner was 18u Star Tony Troiano whom went 8-2 on the mound while throwing 4 one hitters and averaging more than a strikeout an inning. And finally the 2010 Stars High School Player of the Year was 18u Star Francis Chock whom went 7-3 on the mound with 2 saves while hitting .376 and playing great defensively at numerous positions. Congratulations to all the Stars for their accomplishments in 2010 and we are looking forward to a great 2011! Go Stars! Second 2 None!!!
